The SJM45 is a gemology configuration: a 0.67×–4.5× zoom body on a rotating base with three light sources — transmitted daylight for colour grading, a fibre-style spot for inclusions, and reflected halogen for surface features.
The base rotates 0–325° and the arm tilts 0–38°, so a stone can be examined from any angle without being re-clamped. A wire gem holder is included for loose stones.
